How to play Raja Mantri Chor Sipahi
The rules, exactly as your gang played them.
- 1Write Raja, Mantri, Chor and Sipahi on four paper chits, fold them and mix them up.
- 2Each of the four players picks one chit and keeps it hidden.
- 3The Raja shouts "Raja!" and the Mantri reveals themselves.
- 4The Mantri must guess which of the other two players is the Chor.
- 5Points: Raja 1000, Mantri 800, Sipahi 500, Chor 0. Guess right and the Mantri keeps 800; guess wrong and the Mantri's 800 goes to the Chor.

Where it came from
Raja Mantri Chor Sipahi was the game of the last bench and the long bus ride home. It taught an entire generation to keep a straight face. The Chor always overacted, the Sipahi always looked guilty, and the Mantri always guessed wrong on purpose when the Chor was their best friend.
